Collingham Child and Family Centre is an inpatient service for children under 13 who have complex mental health problems.
Children stay in the centre from Monday to Friday and go home at weekends. Most children stay for a few months and the team aims to make each admission as short as possible. Children attend school while they are at the centre, and take part in a variety of therapeutic activities. Parents attend weekly family therapy sessions and can access support groups.
The Collingham team includes doctors, nurses, teachers, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, family therapists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists.
